So What is Xylitol?
Pure xylitol is a white crystalline substance that looks and tastes like sugar. It is a naturally occurring 5-carbon sugar alcohol found in many fruits and vegetables and produced in small amounts by the human body. Xylitol is only slowly absorbed and partially utilized; therefore allowing a reduced calorie claim, 2.4 calories per gram or 40% less than other carbohydrates and none of the negative tooth decay or insulin release effects of sugar. It also has a low glycemic index (7) and has little effect on blood sugar levels. In addition, the body does not require insulin to metabolize xylitol, which has made it a widely used sweetener for the diabetic diet in some countries. In the U.S., xylitol is approved as a food additive in unlimited quantity for foods with special dietary purposes.
The Benefits of Xylitol
- 40% fewer calories than sucrose & found naturally in many common fruits & veggies
- Produced by our own body so it’s a safe alternative to risky sugar-free products
- Xylitol is alkaline-enhancing vs. sugar’s acid-forming so bacteria cannot use it for energy
- Scientific research confirms that Xylitol can improve dental health & it tastes good!
- Results have shown it doesn’t increase blood sugar levels
- It is healthy
The products they have include:
Xlear® Nasal Spray
XyloSweet® Sweetener
Spry Dental Defense System®
Xylitol Gum
Xylitol Mints
SparX® Xylitol Candy
My husband and I both have lots of allergies, an he gets frequent sinus infections. Since he started using the Xlear® Nasal Spray, he hasn’t had a single infection! I’ve been using the Spry Toothpaste, and love it. We are also enjoying the Xylitol Gum. I can’t wait for my next dental appointment, so that my dentist can see just how great my teeth are doing.
Be sure to be looking for my posts here and on Facebook!
As an ambassador for Xlear, I’m being sent to Mexico, and will be receiving free products, and products for giveaways. The ones that I have mentioned above, have been purchased out of my own pocket. As always, the opinions that I express, are 100% my own, and are honest and true.
