KC Masterpiece® Is Not Just For Grilling!
Yep, I bet the first thing that comes to mind when you hear KC Masterpiece®, is grilling, but you’ve got to start thinking outside the box. Sure, keep a bottle for the grill, but there are so many other wonderful ways to use this magical liquid.
I love salads, especially in the summertime when it’s just too hot to cook. I decided to try using KC Masterpiece® as an ingredient in salad dressing. It worked like a charm!
I really like the addition of black beans and corn in my salads so this luscious dressing paired really well!
I simply mixed together:
1/2 cup of KC Masterpiece® Original
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp cumin
garlic powder to taste
Tastes great used right away or chilled for a day or two.
It was delicious. Tangy, but not overwhelming. It was cool and smooth, and oh so good. With the addition of some grilled chicken (basted in KC Masterpiece®, of course) would make it a complete meal.
What about you? How would think outside the box to use your KC Masterpiece®? In a casserole, or maybe a frittata? I’d love to hear some of your ideas. Leave a comment, so I can try some of your great recipes!
That dressing looks really good. I love that barbecue sauce too.
I’m not much on bbq sauce, but my family loves it alot. I’ll have to try this on them.
It really looks good and really unique. I like that KC masterpiece is not a real tangy bbq sauce to begin with. I always get the Honey sauce.
Wow I’m amazed,I never would have thought to do this. Thanks for the recipe,I’m gonna definedly have to try this
I never would have thought to use the bbq sauce in a dressing…clever!! I am going to try it tonight
I usually don’t like barbecue sauce or dressing on my salad, but this dressing you’ve put together sounds really good! And I love black bean tortilla wraps…I might try this dressing in one of those soon!

So creative! I’m always looking for new dressing flavors. I would use it on a southwest chicken salad or as a dipping sauce for fried chicken. Thanks.

Thank-you for the recipe I am not sure about bar-b-q sauce for the salad
dressing, but willing to give it a try.
This recipe looks very tasty. Thanks for sharing!
I don’t think I’ve ever added barbecue sauce to salad dressing. There’s a vegan sour cream recipe that I’ve been wanting to try but wasn’t sure how I would use all of it. I will definitely try this salad dressing when I have the vegan sour cream.
I really liked your article, KC Masterpiece® Is Not Just For Grilling. I never thought of barbecue sauce for anything but grilling until I read your article. It occurred to me that you are right and we all need to start thinking outside the box with more than just barbecue sauce. I love the idea of adding it dressings and casseroles. I am gong to strat adding the special sauce to many of my dishes and call it my secret sauce. Thanks for sharing everything this sauce can add to a meal.
I love BBQ sauce.Another way I use it besides the obvious is I add a little to meatloaf instead of ketchup.Gives it a little different taste 🙂
There is some really good ideas, I add it to mairanate meats, with just a touch, just for a flavor not to bbq with mustard and seasonings, meatloafs, and other meat dishs thank you for all your tips
