8 Awesome Beaches to Consider Visiting During Your Stay in Maldives

If your ideal vacation destination has clear, blue water and powdery sand, then you should visit the Maldives. The island nation is south of Sri Lanka in the Arabian Sea. It is the smallest Asian nations; it includes 26 atolls in about 115 square miles. The nation is home to about 500,000 people. Many of the tiny islands are home to some of the most amazing beaches and you can visit them with Maldives tour packages.

  1. Reethi Beach

Maldives beaches are beautiful during the day, but some of the beaches are even more beautiful at night. Reethi Beach is one of several beaches that is home to bioluminescence. The lights are from bioluminescent plankton that washes ashore during certain times of the year.

  1. Ookolhufinolhu

This little island has a beach that will take your breath away. To visit this island, you will need to take a 30-minute seaplane ride. The island has a large lagoon with pristine, powdery white sand. The beach is gorgeous, and the coral reefs that are home to turtles, dolphins, and other majestic sea life is awe-inspiring.

  1. Dhigurah Beach

Like most beaches in Maldives, the sand is soft and the water is blue. But, this beach offers something the others don’t – whale sharks. When you go swimming here, you have the opportunity to share the waters with whale sharks and other sea life. It doesn’t get much better than this. There are several resorts on this beach and the only way to get there is via boat.

  1. Hulhumale Beach

This is one of the largest beaches in the area, but no bikinis are allowed on it. The beach is on the east side of the island. There is a reef about 300 feet off of the shore. The water is calm, shallow, and warm. If you must wear a bikini, you will have to travel south to the tourist beach.

  1. Veligandu Island Beaches

There is only one resort on this beach, so if you love privacy, this is the beach for you. The beach is clean and accessible only via seaplane. The sand is soft and the water is warm. It is easy to see dolphins and other sea life from the beach and while swimming.

  1. Cocoa Island Beaches

This private island is home to more than 30 over-the-water villas on a turquoise lagoon. The water is calm and the sand is silky soft. Chefs prepare gourmet meals on the beach.

  1. Fulhadhoo Beach

The beaches on Fulhadhoo offer spectacular palm trees and romantic walkways. In many cases, you will share your privacy with sea life and wildlife. Very few people are found on the islands. Along with privacy, the best part of the beaches are the lack of mosquitoes.

  1. Baros Maldives

The beaches of Baros are the stuff of legends. The water is so blue it looks like it’s from another planet. The sand is soft and the greenery around the beaches is lush. You won’t be disappoint visiting Baros.
