Breast Cancer Awareness with Tree Classics
October is breast cancer awareness month and “Tree Classics” is showing their support.
A couple of weeks ago I received the most beautiful Noble Fir wreath. It was sent by “Tree Classics,” and was perfect without any decorations, but the company wanted to help raise awareness about breast cancer and show support for patients. So they commissioned bloggers to create wreaths with breast awareness as the decorating theme.
I chose the Noble Fir, not just because I like the variety, but because the name reminds me of the brave fight one good friend fought and lost with breast cancer, and another good friend who is quietly fighting. I’m sure that many of you have a friend or family member who has been affected by this insidious disease. Cancer does not discriminate, it can affect anyone.
I chose the classic pink, and here is how I decorated the wreath.
These are simple steps that I have always used when I am encircling the form.
- Separate all components being used by color and type. (Flowers, ornaments, etc.)
- Place each component one by one, spreading out in a random pattern.
- Follow with other pieces, all put on as separate groups.
- Focal pieces are usually placed last. (On this wreath the focal components are the large snowflake, butterflies and ribbon.)
Nothing is glued or wired into place until it is arranged properly.
For this wreath I chose pink butterflies because to many, butterflies represent freedom.
The wreath has been donated to Lakeland Regional Cancer Center and will go home with one of the many patients being treated there.
