I am not a fitness buff. If you see me running, you better be running too, because that means that something bad is chasing me! To be totally honest, I’m a couch/desk potato. Due to my weight, and physical issues (severe spondylitis, visual disturbances, BPPV, etc.), traditional exercise is very painful, and in some instances dangerous. Weight bearing exercise is important to overall health, but because of my limitations, it isn’t easy. Low impact is a must for me, which is why the Brrrn Board seemed to be a great option.
Brrrn Your Way to Fitness
About Brrrn
“Brrrn is the fitness and lifestyle brand behind the ‘Today Show’ touted Brrrn Board. After launching in 2018 as the world’s first and only cool temperature fitness experience in New York City, Brrrn reimagined the company in July of 2020 with Brrrn At-Home: a DTC and subscription based fitness platform featuring their hundreds of on-demand workouts from 12+ categories. From youth hockey players to older adults, Brrrn is proud to be the world’s most trusted slide board fitness experience to be enjoyed in living rooms and fitness facilities across the country.”
My Experience
Oh my gosh…this board is slick, and I mean that literally and figuratively!
I thought, this will be great. I’ll just jump on a slide away. Ummm…NOPE. LOL, I just about fell over into the TV. The slide is very slippery, and I’m amazed when I see #brrrn Toks of kids and adults of all ages, working out as if they are gliding on air.
Not to discourage you at all, as I think that Brrrn is a great low impact exercise option, I would suggest that if you are not already in great shape, or if you have any balance issues like I do, that you set up your Brrrn Board on a carpeted area, or possibly on an extra large yoga mat, or even on those foam floor mats for kids. Also do not set up in next to anything that you might get hurt falling against.
We moved my Brrrn Board into the guest bedroom at the end of the bed. That way if I lose my balance, I will either hit the bed or at least a carpeted surface. I watched several videos before really giving my Brrrn Board a serious try out. It truly is low impact, and surprisingly, you can work up a sweat in no time. I look forward to slowly increasing my time, and workout intensity. It’s nice to be able to work out inside with the A/C on, as it’s still in the mid to high 90’s every day, here in Central Florida. With the Brrrn Board, I can work towards a healthier ME, no matter what the temperature or weather!
ALSO, think ahead. You will need to figure out where you will keep and use your Brrrn Board. It will fit under some sofas and beds, which is ideal. For now, sitting on the floor at the end of my guest bed is working fine, but I will have to come up with a place to store it, when ever we have overnight visitors…Maybe upright in the closet.
Conclusion
I think the Brrrn Board is extremely innovative. If I had a space where I could put up a “ballet bar”, it would be a perfect situation. In the mean time, I’m just taking things slowly, and enjoying some movement that doesn’t cause pain and damage to my knees and hips. I would most definitely recommend the Brrrn Board to just about anyone who is looking for a way to exercise at home, doing low impact workouts that will get your heart pumping! When you compare the cost of other types of exercise equipment or gym membership, Brrrn is very cost effective. The board itself, is $349. The Brrrn Board plus the first years subscription is $379. The Brrrn Annual is just $79, or can be purchased monthly for $7.99:

That actually is workout that sounds like fun.
I love to work out and always looking for something new to do. Thanks for the suggestion.
This looks like a great way to lose some weight. I might have to get a board!
What a minimalistic and compact way to work out without cluttering up your space. Great for smaller living spaces.
That sounds like an interesting way to work out. Oh wow, that was a close call with the tv. It’s great that the board slides in easily under beds or sofas. It sounds great to work up a sweat fast.
Looks like a fun way to exercise. I love that it stores under the bed.
I have seen these recently and really wondered about them. I think it would be nice to have one.
I have mobility issues due to back/hip problems. Plus, throw in an autoimmune disorder. I try to walk as much as I can but I also can’t overdo it either. I’ll have to give this device a try.
Wow! This looks like a really great and new way to lose some weight. Thanks for sharing this with us!
This is something I think I would enjoy! It would be perfect for Kentucky winters when I can’t get out and walk and run!
Thank you for sharing this! Going to have to look into this further.
This is my kinda workout! I love doing free hand, low-impact exercises at home, can’t hit gym at the moment 😕. Thanks for sharing your experiences 🙂
Knowing me I would crash and brrrn. 🙂 (see what I did there?)
As someone who cares about fitness a lot, I truly loved the post
What a fun way to work out! I hadn’t heard of this before. I don’t have much time for exercise and I think I would enjoy this.
