Five Tips For A Good Night In

Find yourself with a rare night in? Perhaps you fancy doing something a little different than the usual bedtime routine. It’s often the case that we’re all running at one hundred miles an hour with daily commitments, whether that be work, family life, or other social events.

Being able to stay in and just enjoy your creature comforts is often underappreciated. With that being said, here are some helpful tips for a good night in.

Get into your comfiest

First and foremost, the rule for any good night in is by getting into your comfiest. Whether it’s loungewear or pajamas, there’s nothing better than getting out of your daywear that you’ve been wearing since the early morning, especially when it’s tight-fitted or uncomfortable.

Find something that’s loose and comfortable to lounge in. You don’t want to be shifting around uncomfortably on the sofa. Stretchy leggings and a baggy top would be a great choice. You might want to have a warm bath beforehand so that you’re fully relaxed once you get into the loungewear.

Turn up the thermostat

When it comes to getting ready for a cozy night in, it’s time to turn up the thermostat. Getting the home nice and warm is a great way to feel relaxed and content in your space.

With the cost of living being what it is, you might not want to put your heating on too regularly. Therefore, you should perhaps just put it on intermittently. You could always get a hot water bottle or invest in a heated blanket to keep warm when it gets a little chilly.

Set the vibe with mood lighting

To help with the vibes of a good night in, you’ll want to set the mood with lighting. From LED strip lights to dimmable light switches, it’s a great way to get into that relaxed frame of mind.

Mood lighting is something that can really add to the ambiance of the space. With that in mind, play around with the lighting so that you can create something more enjoyable to watch your movie in or perhaps when having an intimate dinner with your partner.

Pick a movie

If you’re not someone who knows what movies are current at the moment, then it’s worth taking a look online. There are some great movie review sites that are regularly updated like Movies & Chai, for example.

Picking a movie is something you should do fairly early on in the evening so that you’re not scrolling through it when plating up dinner or with snacks all ready to go in front of you.

Get the snacks out

Finally, make sure that the snacks cupboard has been fully stocked ahead of your night in. From party snacks to the standard popcorn and sweet treats, the more you have to munch on, the better.

A good night in is something that you should aim to have once a week. It’s a great way to relax and unwind no matter what time of the week it is.
