Get a Shot. Give a Shot.® – Immunizations at Your Neighborhood Walgreens

I was very pleased with the opportunity to participate in this campaign. I feel very strongly about the importance of regular immunizations for children and adults (and to be perfectly honest – for pets!). Life is often hectic, and making doctors  appointments and the inevitable waiting at the doctor’s office can be really time consuming.

Walgreens to the rescue.

Did you know that at many Walgreens locations you can get a number of immunizations without a prescription!

They have healthcare professionals available, and no appointment needed!

Immunizations are important for everyone, but especially for children, seniors and those with specific medical conditions, like myself.  I have a collagen autoimmune disease which makes me high risk, so seasonal flu can be quite dangerous for me.

There are many children that are not able to get immunizations because of the cost and availability.

Healthcare professionals administer a wide range of CDC-recommended immunizations for adolescents, adults and seniors. Stay Well with Back-to-School Immunizations.

Walgreens makes getting back-to-school immunizations, like whooping cough and meningitis, quick and easy. This year, when your child gets their back-to-school immunization at Walgreens, we’ll help provide a lifesaving vaccine to a child in a developing country through the UN Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign. Together, we can help protect children in the developing world from preventable diseases.

Immunization is one of the world’s biggest public health success stories. Yet, 1 in 5 children around the globe still lack access to the lifesaving immunizations. Coordinated worldwide vaccination efforts have made significant progress, particularly in reducing cases of measles and polio.

You can be a part of this success story by getting your immunization(s) at Walgreens.

We went to Walgreens today.  Of course, the first thing we did was to head straight to the nail polish. Relda, who is my go to gal in the cosmetics department, recommended some brands that were on sale, and made sure that I had a coupon! I adore Relda.  She is always so cheerful and helpful!

I know that, as of late, there has been a lot of controversy over giving immunizations to children.  My personal feeling is that the dangers of NOT immunizing far out weigh the dangers of immunizing. PLEASE discuss the importance of immunizations with YOUR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL before making any decisions on behalf or yourself or your family.

  • We used Walgreen’s for our flu shots when we were away from home for an extended period a few years ago. They were great!

  • What a great way to give back doing something that you would already be doing! I totally agree that not getting your vaccinations is so much more dangerous than getting them. #client
