Located in the historic village of Watkins Glen, NY, The Red Kettle Inn Bed and Breakfast is a little piece of Heaven on Earth. I spent two wonderful nights there, and totally enjoyed every minute of my stay.  Cheryl, the Innkeeper, made me feel at home away from home.  He smile and charm light up a room.  We had wonderful conversations, and she provided a marvelous spread for breakfast.

My stay started with a lovely chat in the Drawing Room.  I was then taken to my room, and on a tour of the home.  It’s obvious that a lot of love was put into making The Red Kettle Inn, hers! AND, I got lots of kisses and tail wags from Petey!Sit Back and Relax at The Red Kettle Inn Bed and Breakfast

About The Red Kettle Inn Bed and Breakfast

The Red Kettle Inn Bed and Breakfast, Watkins Gen, NY…home to the beautiful Finger Lakes wine and cheese region, and the world famous Watkins Glen International Race Track.  We are located within walking distance to the Seneca Lakefront, Watkins Glen State Park, antique shops and delicious restaurants that line charming Franklin Street.  Enjoy a slower pace of life as you sip a glass of local wine on our wrap-around porch with old friends or meet new ones.

Our beautiful 1906 Victorian home is a throw back to the charm of yesteryear while still enjoying modern amenities including — Complimentary Wifi, Smart Tvs and 125 cable channels.  A homemade full country breakfast is made with local farm eggs, bread, fruits and vegetables that reflect the rich farming community that surrounds Watkins Glen.  House made jam, bread and quiche are just a sampling of our chef’s choice breakfast.  Begin your day with a cup of local coffee or house blended tea that is served in our cheery dining room or alfresco on the front porch.  Watkins Glen has something for everyone and your host Cheryl invites you to relax, recharge and feel at home in her beautiful historic bed and breakfast.

Three guest bedrooms, all with private baths.  I stayed in the Blue Room. A comfy queen bed, a relaxing arm chair, and if the weather had been cool, I would have turned on the lovely little electric heater.

Lively conversation was had on my first morning there. Cheryl had friends visiting from California and it was fun to hear about their work as animators for Disney. Yummy food and good conversation make for the start of a great day. My friend Becky came by, and it turns out that she went to high school with Cheryl’s partner.  Small world! Then I was off to see some local sites that Cheryl suggested. The second morning I met some new guests and again, ate to my hearts content. LOL, I even got to rescue a baby possum that got trapped in a bucket on the back steps.

It was sad leaving (thanks Cheryl, for carrying my bags to the car!). I wanted to stay for several more days, but I had to be back in Rochester that afternoon. There was so much more that I wanted to see and do in the area, and I would have loved to have been able to spend more time with Cheryl, Dolly and Petey,  maybe sitting on the porch or at the kitchen island…just chit chatting away.  I look forward to going back to stay at The Red Kettle Inn Bed and Breakfast (and staying in the Green Room) …cross my fingers, in mid February.  I plan on taking another trip to Upstate, NY, and hope to bring another friend along for the ride.

  • I love learning about different unique places to stay (actually have never stayed at a bed and breakfast inn before). The owners seem endearing and take such pride in their inn.
