Tips To Fall In Love With Your Closet Again

There’s nothing more disheartening than going into your closet and not being able to pick out an outfit. If you’re someone who finds themselves selecting the same outfit over and over again, chances are, you’ve fallen out of love with your closet.

It’s important to find joy in life and when it comes to your closet, it’s a part of your daily life that should bring you a lot of happiness. You should be swinging those closet doors open with excitement as you pick out your outfit.

With that being said, here are some tips to fall in love with your closet again.

Invest in your clothing

When it comes to your clothing, don’t be afraid to invest in it. There’s so much money that’s wasted on fast fashion and clothing that will only really last you for one or two years at a time.

If you’re looking to actually save money on the fashion you wear and pick out, invest in quality and durability. Like these embroidered tops for women as an example. Sure they might be a little more costly than what you’d get in other shops but these garments are likely to last you for years.

Throw out anything you don’t wear

If there’s something in your closet that you’ve not worn in over a year, throw it out. Chances are, you’re not going to wear it again and that’s ok. There are going to be items of clothing that you grow out of, even as an adult. Your style may be constantly changing so it’s important to be mindful of what is taking up space in your closet.

Be ruthless in the regular declutters of your closet and make sure that you’re not holding onto anything for sentimental purposes.

Repair or revamp old pieces

If there are any outfits or garments that you really love and can’t bear to part with, then it’s easy enough to hold onto them. However, if they’ve seen better days, it’s worthwhile figuring out how you could repair or revamp old pieces.

For frayed jeans, you could always add patchwork fabrics to them or stitch in various logos or stencil designs onto them.

Shop for your shape

It’s important that when it comes to your figure, you’re shopping for the body shape you have. Everyone’s body shape is different and so what works for your body shape, might not work for someone else’s when shopping for pieces.

Try not to get disheartened if something doesn’t fit your shape well. Chances are, there will be something else out there that fits better and makes you feel a lot more happy. Take a look online to figure out what body shape you are before you go shopping again.

Create your own style

Creating your own style is certainly something you want to take advantage of as you reclaim your closet this year. Try not to pay attention too much to trends or compare yourself to other people’s styles. Create your own because fashion, after all, is just another extension of your personality!
