I’ve been reluctant to share this, but since it’s now public knowledge, I’m making this personal appeal for your help.
Very Personal Appeal for My Daughter
Sonnie, holding her friends son, Bryant.

This is my daughter, Sonnie. She has been battling Pseudotumor Cerebri for a number of years. The constant headaches and nausea, from the excess fluid in her brain, have made life difficult for her. She has trouble sleeping, and it’s hard for her to work, although she goes to work as often as she can. Her doctors have been concerned about other issues over the years, but no test results (other than the Pseudotumor Ceribri) have come back with any definitive answers…until recently. At the age of 28 she has been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.

CLL is a form of Leukemia that is not often heard of.Β  It’s more common in men and is usually only discovered in individuals over the age of 60, and often, not until their 70’s. CLL develops from a type of white blood cell called a B cell.Β  It’s typically slow in it’s progression, which is maybe why it’s common to only be diagnosed in older patients?Β  I’m not sure, but I do know that It causes swollen lymph notes, fatigue, and of course, easy bruising. Treatment plans depend on the age and health of the patient, and the aggressiveness of the illness. At this point, after trying other drugs, chemo is the her next step.

One of Sonnie’s dear friends surprised her by setting up a GoFundMe page, to help raise funds for her chemo treatment, and hopefully to cover her expenses while she is unable to work. If any of you feel moved to go check out the page, or share, or donate (every single dollar helps), it would be most appreciated.Β  And, if you could offer a prayer or send good thoughts her way, that would be most welcome too.

This is my baby. I’m scared. She’s scared. But, we do have faith, and love, and friends…and all of YOU!
