I first dreamed of starting a shoe company in 5th grade. This early spark led me to start KURU, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the many people this dream has impacted.

I soon realized that I wasn’t the only one that needed a safe, simple, natural way to get cleaned up on the go! “

I started Handzies in 2016 because I wanted a way for my family towash our hands more, especially when we were out and about (which wasall the time). No one liked any of the other portable cleaning options…baby wipes were something we were all past and goopy handsanitizing gels just smeared stuff around and left our hands dry and smelling like a doctors office. Plus, I was worried about using too many things with harsh chemicals especially when we were about to eat.
What I wanted was a portable sink but since that didn’t seem too feasible I started making my own wipes using castile (olive-oil based) soap, water and essential oils. Once friends and family found out that I was carrying my wipes around in a plastic bag in my purse, they were forever asking me for “one of those wipes” to clean up. Realizing I wasn’t the only one that just wanted a
simple, natural way to get clean, Handzies was launched. Now Handzies are produced at our commercial manufacturing site out in sunny California and we’re happy to provide everyone with a way to get squeaky clean on the go!”

Hey, we’re Jane & Ivan!

I’m Jane, a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, and a Professional Babywearing Educator. I am also an associate member of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants (IACSC), and an industry professional member of the Baby Carrier Industry Alliance (BCIA).
As new parents back in 2016, Ivan and I were exhausted, overwhelmed, but also amazed by the beautiful tiny moments shared with our little one. Those magical bonding moments are what make parenting a joyful adventure!
A few months later, our second son was on his way. As our hearts once again soared with anticipation, Ivan got heavily injured in an accident. With a baby in tow and another on the way, family and friends stepped up for us. Their support helped us stay optimistic and make it through the tough times. Without such a supportive community, we might not have been where we are today.
When we started KeaBabies in 2017, the KeaCommunity became the heart and soul of everything we do. I am interested in the KURU Footwear. It is expensive though.
