Remodeling Your Children’s Bedrooms
There are a lot of great reasons to think about remodeling your children’s bedrooms. For one, it is a great way to make them feel more at home. And as they grow up, they are going to shift and change, and desire new kinds of spaces to be in. As this happens, you want to make sure that they remain happy with their room, and that means that it often becomes necessary to remodel the space. Let’s take a look at some of the things you may want to bear in mind when you do this, to ensure it is as successful as possible.
Remodeling Your Children’s Bedrooms
Ask For Their Opinion
First of all, you should make sure that you are taking the time and making the effort to ask your children for their opinion on what they would like from their bedrooms. You might be surprised at just how many amazing ideas they have, and how much creativity they bring to the question. This is a really great way of making sure that you end up producing the best possible bedroom design for them, so it’s definitely something that you will want to think about doing early on – and make sure you really listen to them!
Think Carefully About Color
How you approach the issue of color will depend largely on how old your children are and therefore what kind of effects they might be keen on having in their room. Younger kids will respond best to lots of bright and bold colors, but older children are going to find that unnecessarily gaudy, and in that case it would be best to make it a little more toned-down. It’s all about carefully considering their age and tastes as best as you can. If you can do that, you’re going to find that the result is much better.
Look Into The Details
There are a lot of details that you might want to get right when you are trying to make your children’s bedrooms look their very best. If you don’t have the right approach to this, it can be hard to know what to do in order to keep them happy, but if you are careful about it you could end up with a space they love. Small details can make all the difference, such as dotting a few of their favorite Minifigures around the place or putting up posters of their top movies.
Keep It Simple
All in all, don’t try to do too much. If you do that, you will often find that you end up with the kind of result that they will hate. Whereas if you are keeping it as simple as you can, it’s going to be much more likely to be the kind of thing they are looking for. Keeping it simple in this way is going to be the most important thing you can do in all, so make sure that you don’t overlook this vital part of the whole project. If you do that right, they will be happier with the result.

My teen is ready to remodel his bedroom. These are great ideas.
Awesome ideas! We just started my 16 year old’s room last week. He has lots of say in what he wanted. We will have a camo room in our house.
We are about to welcome our 3rd baby – our 2nd girl and I am excited to get her room set up. My son’s room will be moved so baby girl can have that room. Thanks for the tips on decorating because I need to figure out my son’s.
Such inspiration and tips! Will have to remember this as we redo our kids rooms!
I’m still working on remodeling my son’s bedroom. His room still needs shoe trim and paint. It’s been a slow process but I’ll get there someday.
Picking a color that would suit any age group is such an important detail. These are great tips. Thanks for sharing!
When we remodeled my son’s room a couple of years ago, I let him decide on what he wanted – from the paint colors to the design. We all love the results!
My kids have a neutral color but they can decorate the room in any way and with everything they want!
So much fun and when I was a kid… 1 or 12… I would do this all of the time and honestly I didn’t it myself. I painted my room and this post reminds me that my daughters room could use a makeover 😉
