No Bread?
Last Monday evening Steve stopped at the store on his way home from work. We had pretty much everything we needed to get through Hurricane Isaac, but we were out of bread. Well, there wasn’t a loaf to be found. We had plenty of flour, butter, eggs, and yeast, so I decided to back on Tuesday morning.
I used one of my favorite dough recipes.
I made a dozen of these, a dozen plain rolls, a loaf of brown sugar / cinnamon, and a loaf of plain white.
As I’m putting the last pan (which was the plain white loaf), into the oven, Steve calls and says ” Hey – I stopped at SAM’s on my way home because there was nobody shopping there. I picked up some goodies and 2 loaves of bread!”
Oh well – you can never have enough starch – right?
Wowza, those rolls look amazing! I want some next time I visit! Haha. I love that Dad showed up with bread just as you were finishing. Figures. Ha. Homemade is so much better anyway. And hey, you got to exercise your domestic muscles. 😉
Those look SO delicious. And so versatile…you can fill it with just about anything!
