3 Thoughtful Gift Ideas

It is almost the season to be jolly. Then again though, all year round it feels as though Christmas is lurking behind the corner. It’s a wonderful time of the year, but it sure can be stressful. There are lots to think about getting, and the shopping list can often seem endless.

One of the most significant areas that you need to think about in the run-up to the festive season is that of buying gifts. The giving of gifts can show those that we love and care about exactly how much we think about them. But, how often do you find yourself roaming the aisle of the stores in the run-up to Christmas panic buying? You may pick up products off the shelf with a sense of uncertainty and end up buying them because you cannot see any better option.

Marketing makes us feel as though we are not showing that we care unless we are spending large amounts on products that may eventually just end up being put to one side. There are many other ways that you can demonstrate how much you care, and it needn’t be through gifts that the major retailers want you to buy.

Make Them A Gift

One way to show that you care is to put in the effort and create something for your friends and family. Making gifts adds a personal touch to the gifting experience, as well as showing how much you care by devoting time to make something. You can think about customized gifts – customized socks, t-shirts, pieces of jewelry – that will certainly show how much you care.

There are lots of things that you could make, an example might be handmade soaps. Buy fragrance oils online and get to work now and you could have a batch of soap made up to give to your loved ones. They would appreciate them better than shop-bought soap any day!

Give An Experience

How about taking your loved ones on a boat trip or a helicopter ride? There are lots of amazing experiences out there that you could pay for as a gift. If you want to make the day really special, why not take a picnic and make all of the travel arrangements too. Planning an entire day for someone can make them feel like the most important person in your world.

Another great option for a gift could be to pay for a course for them. They may have always wanted to take up a certain skill, so paying for a class in that subject will not only give them enjoyment while they learn, it will give them longer-term enjoyment as they will have skills and knowledge that will last for a lifetime.

Giving Up Your Time

Helping out in someone’s life can be very much appreciated. Why not offer to decorate, or landscape a loved one’s garden so that they can enjoy their home more fully. These may be jobs that they cannot complete themselves, or that overwhelm them. Showing that you care about someone means giving them your time and attention.
