BRAVA VALENTINE / Review
How loud can I shout it…
I LOVE ADRIANA TRIGIANI!
I was sent a signed – yep to me,
*big sigh – with stupid grin on my face*
ARC of Brava Valentine.
Some of you, who have been with me from the very beginning,
might remember that the very first review that
I ever did, was for the
Big Stone Gap series.
I’ve also read Lucia, Lucia, and I can’t
wait to get my hands on a copy of
Cooking With My Sisters!
So, back to Brava Valentine…
I like to savor Trigiani’s books.
I always read them while soaking in the tub.
My husband usually has to drag me out after
a couple of hours (and gallons upon gallons of hot water),
while I protest asking for “just a little more time”.
Her characters are so complicated – as are her story lines…
and yet – so simple.
They want to love, be loved,
and fill their lives with something that they
truly enjoy.
Trigiani weaves her stories with the most vibrant
and luscious threads, and when she’s done,
a tapestry of the most fabulous quality,
is the result.
The research that goes into her books,
has got to be intense, as she seems
to get inside of the characters lives.
You can just picture in your mind…
their homes, their jobs, their feelings.
After reading Brava Valentine, I now
know more about the process of making shoes,
than 99.999 percent of the population of the world.
When she talks about Italy, I can literally smell
the aromas, and feel the sun on my face, and
see the cobble stone streets.
Aaaaaah – the rooftop garden that Gabriel creates.
I can just picture my husband and I,
dancing in the moonlight with
Frank and his orchestra:-)
The love letters from Gianluca…my heart is melting.
And the families…never could I leave out the families.
We all have an Aunt Fern (even if we wish we didn’t),
and Gram…oh how I miss mine.
Every time Valentine’s dad makes a speech
I’m waiting for his “misprenanication” of
one word or another.
If you haven’t read any of Adriana Trigiani’s books,
you are truly missing out.
Please go out and get one today…you won’t be sorry!
Thank you so much Ms. Trigiani, for sharing
Brava Valentine with me. It will be passed along
to many other people, but it will end up back in
my hands, for a second and third reading…
and will have a home in a treasured place
in my bookshelves.
PS – I’d love a copy of Very Valentine,
and Cooking With My Sisters…
your assistant has my address!

What a magnificent review! I am tingling with excitement for reading her even more now! I received Brava Valentine and Very Valentine to read for the TLC Book Tour contest and I have never read her before (always wanted too!). Your review has thrilled me even more! thank yoU!
Okay, so I am almost done with Very Valentine and I am LOVING it. I just recently lost my Grandmother and I love the relationship between Valentine and hers. It may be hard to part from my copy as it may become a favorite of mine BUT I could be tempted to trade. Whaddya got?
Do you have Big Stone Gap? or any others of hers that YOU would not mind parting from?
🙂
