This quote isn’t recent, by any means, but I’ve been thinking about if quite often lately. Having dealt with the public school systems for over 33 years, I keep my fingers on the pulse of education. I find that I am shocked and frankly, appalled, at some of the things that are going on.
The latest farce, in my humble opinion, is the list of desired “banned words“, compiled by the NYC Department of Education.

I completely agree. This reminds me of the recent story on yahoo about the little girl that was told she couldn’t get her school picture taken with a cute bow hairstyle.
