Let's Get Organized Scrapbooking Challenge (with the ScrapRack) – Getting caught up.
WOW – am I ever behind…
But I hope that you will understand, after reading this post!
If you’ve missed my other updates, you can find them here:
I was so impressed with Tiffany’s Craft Room, that I wanted to have a similar set up for myself. My husband (who BTW – is just about the best guy around), had seen the longing in my eyes, so a couple of weeks ago, he came home with a new office chair and desk, for me!
I was so excited, I could barely contain myself. He was so exhausted when he finally got home on that Monday night. He had put in about 11 hours at the office, then had to go to two different Office Depot stores, in order to get the desk that I had my heart set on. By the time he got home, he had been up for over 15 hours. We ate dinner, and knowing that I was wanting to start setting up my new crafting space, he started putting together my new chair. By the time, he was done, I knew that he was just too tired to tackle the desk, so I told him that I would be able to wait until the next evening, for that project.
Getting through the next day, seemed like an eternity. Steve grabbed dinner for us on the way home, and he began putting my desk together just as soon as he had changed into some comfortable clothes. The base went together fairly quickly.
We moved it to the spot that I had chosen, and then placed the first piece of glass onto the base. No problemo…not so much with the second piece of glass. As we were lowering it onto the desk, it “exploded” into a million pieces.
Glass went EVERYWHERE!
I think that it was an absolute miracle, that neither of us got cut, and that the dogs were on the other side of the house. Three weeks later, and we’re still finding bits of glass. In our sofa, recliner chair, and my stash of silk flowers. Under bookcases and other pieces of furniture.
And sadly, in my foot:-(
When the glass hit the floor, it was with such force, it pitted the wood! (Excuse the dog hair…I hadn’t Swifferd that day.)
Before moving on to the next subject, I do have to say that Office Depot was fantastic. I called that evening to let them know what had happened. The manager on duty at the time, wanted to make sure that we were okay, and assured me that our well being was their #1 priority. Then they bent over backwards to make sure that we got a new desk and that we were compensated for our “troubles”.
Alrighty…on to my next distraction…which is actually a complete pleasure.
I’ve got these little munchkins (some of our grandchildren) living with us for a while…along with their lovely mother (our daughter)! Their dad has started a new job out west, and they will be with us until their house sells. I feel for him, but his “loss” is definitely our gain!
We are homeschooling Bimmer and Firebolt, so that is taking up some time, and BAM – a bug has been rampaging through the family. Bimmer got it first, then me, and then Hot Dog Bun. We’re crossing our fingers that SQ ( our daughter), Steve, and Firebolt are spared.

My progress on the:
2012 Back to School Back to Scrapping Get Organized Challenge
First – Here is a photo of my Scrap Corner.
Books on the shelves needed to be re-homed, so that the rest of my supplies could be moved into my craft area. Right now they are all stacked, up in a hallway, but SQ is going to take them upstairs, and put them in the bookshelves there. I think that I have everything where I want it, and here is the finished ‘”product
A place for everything, and everything in its place!
It’ feels so good, to have all my supplies and tools, neatly organized and easy to access. I can’t tell you how much I’ve accomplished with the help of Tiffany Spaulding – the inventor and owner of The ScrapRack. With her encouragement and suggestions, I now have the craft “room” of my dreams. Even with all the chaos around me, I feel settled. SQ and I, are even starting a small home business together, and having a space where I can work, is absolutely amazing!!!
Now that you’ve see what Tiffany has done for me, I hope that you will take the time to check out her amazing ScrapRack, and the other great supplies that she carrys in her online store. I will be posting more on weeks, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 in another post, along with my ongoing progress while “attending”
Organization BootCamp!

Wow, you had quite a time, didn’t you! Crazy that it scratched the floor. But I have to say the end result is amazing! I love the desk. I so wish I had a place for everything and everything in it’s place. My house is so small and now cluttered that it stresses me out
Dang that stinks about your floor. That desk is so awesome though! I am working on organizing my whole house right now. It’s so much work but it’s so worth it!
Looks great, I wish I could do this!!
Love your new scrap area! =)
Your craft area looks so neat and tidy – unlike mine! Mine looks like a hurricane went through the room. I’m hoping 2013 will see my room a lot more organized.
Looks awesome! I need help!
I love your new space. So sorry about what it took to get it there (ouch!). Your husband is a gem! I am just as grateful for Tiffany’s lessons. I met her and took her class in July 2012 at CKC Lancaster and have been re-organizing ever since. I’d love for you to share in my journey. Here;s the links to my organization glog posts. Thanks for the giveaway!

Just starting to get organized but that word (organized) has never been used with my name at home anyway. Lets hope I do better this time. Thanks for the chance to win this. Debbie
It’s so important to have your space carved out. I have mine, too. It makes you feel.. yeah, settled. For me, it’s where I simply.. FIT.
So glad no one got hurt! I love the desk but don’t think the glass would work for me, especially after seeing how it can explode!
