Petrea Volubilis is a Joy for Gardeners in Tropical Climates

PETREA VOLUBILIS is a JOY for gardeners in tropical climates!

PETREA VINE

This is my baby… Lovingly grown and trained for 4 years across my front porch. It is a fabulous garland that
blooms twice a year, and doubles as a Christmas garland, complete with lights during the holidays.

(The garland was trained to grow from column to column with 50# fishing line.
It has the strength needed, it doesn’t rot, and is virtually invisible.)

PV Christmas

Because of the profuse blooms that it produces, it is often mistaken as Wisteria. Unlike Wisteria. PETREA VINE is non-invasive and does not do damage to the structures on which it grows the way Wisteria does.
PETREA VINE is also known as Queen’s Wreath, Bluebird Vine, and Sandpaper Vine, as the leaves are rough, much like sandpaper.

PV Spring

PETREA VINE is easy to grow, and has virtually no pests that find it appealing…

THEIR LOSS!

Although this plant is relatively unknown, it can be found at many nurseries, and even online. It can be easily started using the cutting method along with a rooting medium.

It tolerates heat well and does not require a great deal of water.

  • I love apple butter. My grandmother made it every year, along with other jellies and canned veggies. We are from the south and love good home cooked food! Thank you
