THE WILDEST HEART / Review
The Wildest Heart
by Rosemary Rogers
From the Publisher:
Lady Rowena Dangerfield travels from the exotic palaces of India to the splendor of the Royal Court of London to the savage New Mexico frontier to lay claim to her inheritance and live freely as only she would dare. In the violent, untamed American Southwest, she finally meets a man as strong as she is: Lucas Cord, a dark dangerously handsome, half-Apache outlaw. Fighting scandal, treachery, and murder, Luke is determined to have Rowena for his own, and as their all-consuming passion mounts, no one is going to stop him…
About the Author:
Is a best-selling author of historical romance novels. Her first book, Sweet Savage Love, was published in 1974. She was the second romance author, after Kathleen Woodiwiss, to have her novels published in trade paperback format. Rogers is considered to be one of the founders of the modern historical romance, and many of today’s writers cite her writing as one of their biggest influences. She lives in Connecticut.
My Revew:
The Wildest Heart is the epitome of historical romance.
It is a spectacular saga of epic proportion.

739 pages of pure enjoyment!
Rowena Dangerfield is aptly named, as she does not let her gender get in the way of her desires.
She does what she wants to do, even if it isn’t always the safest thing, and she
does not worry about what society deems appropriate.

Rogers paints a stunning portrait of what life was like,
in New Mexico in the late 1800’s and
she brings her characters to life.
I couldn’t stand Todd Shannon.
I found Lucas Cord to by sad and mysterious.
I would love to have
Marta and her husband looking after me and my household…
…and I wish that I had just a little of Rowena’s gumption.
I especially appreciated the fact that there was very little “raw” language.
The Wildest Heart is a fantastic story, and gets 2 thumbs up from me!
