3 Ways To Brighten Up Your Interior This Summer
With Summer just around the corner, we’re all likely to be feeling the wave of optimism the warmer weather brings and look forward to socializing in the sun. Now, is a great time to focus on preparing your garden for all those exciting garden parties, water fights with the kids, slip and slides, picnics, brunches, and even cuddling up under a blanket in order to watch the stars under the night sky.
Hopefully, by now, you will have already embarked on the great “spring clean” meaning, your home is primed to be freshened up with some finishing touches. Now, often these ‘finishing touches’ can be financially prohibitive if you’re on a low income yet often times, when you lack financial resources you just need to increase your creative resourcefulness, and one way of doing this is to visit a furniture warehouse and then upcycle pre-loved furniture so that it fits in perfectly with your home.
Here are three ways you can freshen up your interior this summer:
1. PASTEL COLORS
There’s no better way to uplift your interior than by painting the walls a different colour. This season, pastel shades of gelato inspired colours are on trend.
This is interesting, as picking out your favorite paint color is much like picking your favorite ice cream flavor, in the sense that you often want more than one scoop of flavor, as otherwise, it can get a bit boring. The good news is that this season, the trend is to utilize a palette of colors meaning you can select your favorite color combinations presuming they compliment each other.
2.POPS OF COlOR
At the moment, bright and bold pops of color are a common favorite in all the interior magazines. For instance, you could utilize a deep indigo bedspread (indigo being of the most fashionable colors this season) which is then set against a light pastel wall, mixed in with a bop of color from a vibrant orange rug.
It is, of course, important to ensure the contrast compliments rather than clashes with the other colors of your home, yet with some careful consideration, these bold pops of colour are a great way to add vibrancy and aliveness to your home.
3. FOLIAGE
Indoor plants are very much in trend. There are, of course, a number of health benefits associated with bringing the garden indoors, as they help purify the air as well as adding moisture to the air which is particularly important if you’re in a house that uses air conditioning (known to dry out the air).
From an interior design perspective, the main reason for this trend, is in support of contrast; plants with dark green leafy foliage, are becoming particularly popular as they provide a great way to inject color and vibrancy when set against pastel colored walls.
So, there we have three ways to brighten up your home interiors this summer; with bright and vibrant pops of color in addition to deep green foliage to add further contrast.
