Stretch Your Money Further With These Choices

Are you struggling to stretch your money far enough to achieve the lifestyle that you have always wanted? If so, then good news because we have the advice that you need to get there! It’s not always easy to save money and make it go further than it currently does, but there are some super simple things that you can do to get you there. As long as you can get yourself in the right mindset, and dedicate yourself to making some changes to the way that you do things, you will start to see results fairly soon.

If you’re not sure where to start with this, then you’re in the right place. Down below, we’re going to be taking a look at some of the things that you can do to make your money go that little bit further. Keep reading down below if you would like to find out more about this topic!

Write A Blog

The first suggestion that we have for you is that you can consider starting a blog as something to do in your spare time. If you ditch Netflix and other things like this, then you will have the time to dedicate to starting your new blog and making a little bit of extra money. Of course it’s going  to take a little bit of time to get your blog to the standard that it needs to be in order to start making money, but we all have to start somewhere.

You might be sitting there wondering how you can start a blog and what you would even write about. Well, there are plenty of tools that you can use such as WordPress that will help you set up a website. As for what you could write your blog on, the possibilities are endless. As long as you can make your blog exciting and entertaining to readers, this is all that is going to matter. Some blogs cover a wide range of topics where others are more niche in nature, and it’s just a case of figuring out what works for you and your readers.

Save A Little More

Another option is going to be to save a little more money than you currently do. Let’s be honest here, most of us aren’t that great with saving because there are simple so many things that need to be paid for, the money just doesn’t go far enough. But, with a proper budget it is possible. You need to know where your money is going, how much of it you have, and then when all of the necessary bills are paid, that’s what you are left with. Our best advice to you is to cut this in half and put half into savings for a rainy day. This way, you will never be caught off guard with unexpected expenses.

If you are someone who uses cash regularly, then you can also start saving up your little bits of change in a pot somewhere. It might not feel like a lot, but eventually it will start to add up and you will get a nice tidy chunk of change for when you need it.

Find A Side Hustle

If you are struggling to pay all the bills each month then it might be time to look into side hustles. These are a great way to make some extra cash each week, month, or year and they can be done whenever you have free time. There are plenty of side hustles out there, it is a matter of finding one that you enjoy. If you have a particular skill or qualification then this can be put to good use with your side hustle. For instance, if you are a teacher then you can make some extra money offering tutoring skills. Alternatively, you could create and sell educational resources online. This is a wonderful choice for anyone in the childcare industry.

Start Your Own Business

If you are tired of working the daily grind and find you are not getting any fulfillment or enjoyment from it then you could always start your very own business. This will give you the chance to make a huge difference, not only in your life but other people’s as well. People that start their own business tend to be much nicer as they have been in the employees seat. This means you as your own boss will be nice and treat your employees with the respect they deserve. Starting your own business will incur huge costs at the start but when you start making profits you will notice a huge difference in your income each month.

Make Lifestyle Changes

It’s also a good idea to start looking at your lifestyle as a whole. Some of the things that you do are unnecessary and only serve to drain your finances. Instead of allowing this to happen, it’s time to cut some of these things out and make room for some more money in your life. For example, drinking alcohol every weekend can become an expensive habit, so perhaps cut it down to every other weekend, or even cut it down to once per month. Quitting smoking will also save you more than you could even imagine, so if you’re a smoker it might be time to look at methods of letting this habit go. Not only is this good for your wallet, but it’s also good for your health.

Reduce Your Debts

Have you thought much about your debts recently? For most people who are in debt they are like a gray cloud hanging over an otherwise clear sky, which makes things tough for you financially. As such, it’s a good idea to start looking at your options for reducing or clearing off your debts. As soon as they are no longer hanging over your head, you are going to feel much more secure in your financial position.

There are plenty of ways that you can go about doing this, and getting some insight into your options is a good place to start. The path that we recommend taking though is contacting your creditors and sorting out payment plans. Make sure that these are affordable to you and your creditors are likely to accept this. If you do this with all of them, eventually you will manage to pay them all off, even though it might take a little while.

The other option is a consolidation loan. If you don’t want to owe multiple different people or companies, take out one large loan to cover all of your debt, and then make your payments to pay this off going forward. It’s a far simpler way to manage debt.

Plan Meals

Something else you can do to ensure your money goes as far as possible is plan weekly meals. This will save you money in the long run as you won’t be spending money on pointless things when you walk around the supermarket. It can be tempting to just shop around and put random items in the trolley. However, you will be shocked when you get to the checkout to find how much you have actually spent. Make sure you not only include breakfast, lunch, and dinner but also snacks that you can have during the day. If you have children then it might also be a good idea to plan for them as well including any lunches they might need.

Avoid Unmanageable Credit

If you have a great credit rating then it might be a good idea to keep it this way. That means avoid being tempted to apply for additional credit in the form of loads and credit cards. This can bring your credit score crashing down and make it impossible to get accepted for anything more in the future. One thing you have to remember is that the credit you borrow isn’t yours and it never will be. You have to pay it back, either weekly or monthly. Make sure that if you do decide to apply for credit that you have the enough funds available to make the repayments.

Track Your Spending

When it comes to saving money and making it stretch you should ideally be tracking your spending. This could mean writing everything down that you need and keeping a tally of what you have been spending that month. You can use good old fashioned pen and paper to do this, with a calculator or you can download apps that automatically track your spending. These are usually linked to your bank accounts and will give you a run down of what is due to come out and how much you will have left for the month. Make sure to check which apps will help you rather than hinder. You don’t want to download one that is complicated with lots of sections to fill in.

Careful What You Buy

Finally, you should be careful with what you are purchasing and how you are using those purchases. For example, if you buy something on the cheap then it won’t last as long as something that costs more. This may seem counterproductive but it will save you spending more in the future. This applies to things like furniture and clothing, if you spend little amounts then they are more likely to break or fall apart. Make sure you shop around and find the best deals for your money.

I try to do a lot of these as I love to save. I admit I should probably eat at home more often but I so hate to cook.

  • All these are my mantra in life. I buy what I need and if ever I can get items for free or paying it a little than the original price I would. Especially when planning meals which can take a lot of portion in monthly spending.
