Lake District

The Lake District is easily one of the prized-jewels of northern England. Whether you want to sail across the lakes or ramble through walking trails – you’ll constantly be craving to take in the sights. You can discover the villages tucked around the countryside – each packed with their own character. After a day of exploring, enjoy a well-deserved rest in a charming array of cafes and pubs. The journey to the Lake District is stunning and well worth a train ride. You can save yourself money by travelling off-peak.

Edinburgh

Going even further up north is Edinburgh, the Scottish capital. Old and new come together in a city which just begs to be explored. It seems like there is something to discover in every nook and cranny. You can explore the history within the city or enjoy it from afar and take in the sights from Arthur’s Seat. If you fancy having a tipple while you’re in Edinburgh then you can get involved in a whisky tasting or a literary-themed pub crawl.

Bristol

Let’s head south this time shall we? Bristol is an award-winning city and it truly has something for everyone. Whether you’ve got a taste for culture or fancy yourself a foodie – you’ll find something to love here, and immediately want to book another weekend trip. Start your day in one of the city’s delicious brunch spots and then get exploring.

Cornwall

We need to mention at least one of the UK’s coastal spots – though there are so many to choose from. Cornwall is pretty special- from its white sands and idyllic oceans to wonderful walking trails. It’s no wonder Time Out said it was one of the best places in the country. We won’t blame you if you find yourself thinking you’re living in a postcard on your visit. Make sure to get your jam and cream in the right order while you’re there, too!
