Create An Elegant Spare Bedroom In 5 Simple Steps

There are quite a few homeowners out there who will have forgotten about their spare room. To them, this room is something only worth thinking about whenever they have guests. They will put a bed in it and that’s about it. As a result, it might end up looking quite gray and drab with a totally uninspired interior.

Your spare room deserves so much more than that! If you carefully consider its decor, then it can be a really bright room that will wow your guests. Here are five simple steps to turn it into an elegant spare bedroom.

Add Some Traditional Wooden Furniture

One of the first things to think about is the kind of furniture that you’ll use in the room. It’s a good idea to opt for some traditional wooden pieces, as this won’t create a look that is too bold. Any bold interiors could be quite off-putting to some guests. It’s easy to find great wooden furniture at reasonable prices these days, especially if you look at stores like Vancouver Woodworks. Just make sure that all the pieces you buy are the same shade or color so they all match.

Make Sure It’s Practical

Don’t forget that the room needs to be as practical as possible for guests. They will need some storage if they are staying for a few nights, so it’s necessary to add a wardrobe or a sizeable chest of drawers. They then won’t have to live out of their suitcase! A bedside table with a small lamp will also prove to be very useful as well.

Opt For A Neutral Color Scheme

If you need to redecorate the room, try to stick to a neutral color scheme. Pale pastels and muted creams or whites will work very well indeed. This should prevent you from stamping too much of your personality over the room. If the room is as neutral as possible, all your guests should feel welcome no matter their tastes.
