Here we are on day 29 of our 30 day kindness challenge and it is about the ultimate act of kindness is sharing. Don’t you agree? It is something we give from ourselves. Pretty neat don’t you think?
If you want to be especially kind, you can share what you have with others. Sharing seems like such a simple gesture. We’re taught at an early age that we should share our belongings. As you know, that can be a tough thing for a small child to do.
Sometimes, even as adults, giving up what we have can be more difficult than we’d expect or would like to admit. However, sharing is the ultimate act of kindness. Maybe the reason for this is because of how difficult it can sometimes be to share. Read on to discover ways you can share what you have without really giving up anything. In fact, you’ll gain so much more.
Your Time is an Ultimate Act of Kindness
Sharing your time is a good place to start. We all have the same number of minutes in each day. Yes, you may have a lot of obligations vying for that time, but most people do. Take a moment to reflect in gratitude on your blessings, and you’ll probably realize that you have plenty of time to share. Spend time with a sick friend or someone you know who has been feeling lonely. Take time to truly listen to a friend’s story. We often underestimate just what a gift this can be to someone.
Your Knowledge
We all have unique knowledge, whether it comes from education or through life experience. If you possess a special skill or hold expertise in a particular area, it can be really fulfilling to share that know-how with someone else. Teaching what you know is fun, and it helps to keep that skill or hobby going. You’ll create a special bond when you share what you know with someone else. You might even save someone a great deal of money, time, or frustration which is another ultimate act of kindness.
Your Resources
If you think about it, you probably have an abundance of different types of resources to be thankful for. Chances are good that you can afford to share them. If you feel you’re doing okay financially, there are plenty of ways you could give money to provide assistance to others. A monetary contribution to a charity is always appreciated. Perhaps you could give a grocery store gift card or care package to someone you know personally who has fallen on tough times.
There are many other types of resources beyond just money, though. Most of us have an abundance of material possessions. You could donate clothing and household goods you no longer use to the local thrift store. Another possibility is to invite friends to your holiday gatherings if you’re aware they aren’t able to be with family.
Sharing what you have is a sacrifice. That’s what makes it such a special form of kindness. You’ll feel wonderful when you share.
