Christmas at Our House

I still have my tree up.  I feel like Christmas passed me by because I was so sick.  I want to hang on to the season for a bit longer.  Here are a few highlights of Christmas at Our House.

We Decked the Halls

I like to change out my decorations, but I liked these colors so much that I’ve done this for the last 2 years, and may just keep them for 2014.

Had Some Good Eats.

I was so sick for most of the time, my family had to pitch in and cook.  Sadly, I didn’t get picks of the great meals that they prepared. We had soup (my DIL made Pastat Fajoil and my son made Chicken Parm Subs –  OMGosh, that was all so good),  and on Christmas Day, we had our “traditional” breakfast of Pillsbury Orange Sweet Rolls, bacon, scrambled eggs and orange juice. My husbands has had this meal on Christmas Morning, I think for every year of his life.  For dinner on Christmas Day, we had a spiral sliced ham, my homemade mac and cheese (made ahead and pulled out of the freezer), dilled green beans and rolls.  Turkey and all the trimming was served one day, but I honestly don’t remember when. I crawled out from my dungeon of doom and threw together some white chocolate cheesecakes, which is my daughter-in-laws favorite. We froze 2 of them so that she could take them home with her.  A week later, I made a sour cream pound cake for my son.

I did manage to get a shot of our Christmas Eve Cookies and Cocoa Table.

Sent Gifts to the Office.

I always send in goodies for my husbands Admins.  They make his work life so much easier, I feel like they really deserve the best.  This year, I sent in a little something for each of them, 3 days of the week for the first three weeks in December.

Here are a few of the goodies that they received.

My girls wrapped most of the packages, but I managed to do a few of the special gifts. This is something that I look forward to every year, so I’m going to make doubly sure, that I’m NOT sick next year.

And last, but certainly NOT least, we enjoyed our family…the most important part of any holiday. My children and grandchildren mean the world to me and I am so grateful to be able to see them whenever possible. These are the 3 youngest that were here this year.
