Kool-Aid Easy Mix Liquid and Country Time Lemonade Starters

It’s hot hot hot here already…has been for well over a month now. And, when I say hot, I mean muggy, steaming, pass out from walking to the mailbox and back HOT! As I type this, it’s after midnight and it’s still almost 90 outside.  UGH!  Here is the South, it seems as though Summer is Really NEVER ENDING! When it’s like this all day everyday, we stay thirsty. We get tired of just plain water and want something else to keep us hydrated. Kool-Aid Easy Mix Liquid and Country Time Lemonade Starters to the rescue.

We headed out to our local Walmart and found the mixes in the drink mix aisle. My grand daughter, Miss K, initially thought that she would like Cherry, but in the end she chose Grape Kool-Aid.

KA 2

I wanted Country Time Lemonade, so that’s what we brought home.

Now little Miss K, is as happy as a clam drinking her Kool-Aid straight up.  I, on the other hand, wanted something with a little more ooomphffff to it.  There is a new popular drink in town, I’m sure you know which one…and I wanted to try to put something together that was pretty similar.  Here’s what I came up with:

Country Time Lemonade Starter Frosty Pink Lemonade

CT KA 2

3 tablespoons Country Time Lemonade Starter
1 cup crushed ice
1 cup frozen vanilla yogurt
1 cup lowfat milk
¼ cup whipping cream
Dash of grenadine syrup
Dash of pure vanilla extract

Mix together in blender or smoothie maker. Top with a cherry, if desired and ENJOY

my kids hate the taste of water and I can barely get them to drink it so I always add a little bit of kool aid or lemonaid just to flavor up their water. they absolutely love it.

  • We just discovered the lemonade starter also, and it’s great. We use it in frosting sometimes also, it gives a great little bit of punch on a white cake.
