#NSNation Our Nutrisystem Journey Begins

Well, our Nutrisystem Journey has begun…I will be posting here weekly, as will my daughter, who is working the Nutrisystem program with me.
If the last week is any indication, things are going to be great for the next three months. We’ve had continuous contact and support from our counselors. The information from them, along with the packet that came with our food, has pretty much given us all the skinny on what we need!
Speaking of food, our orders arrived in 2 shipments. One with all the frozen products and one with all the dry/canned goods.
The Styrofoambox conainter was ICY cold. It was shrink wrapped on the outside and packed with dry ice on the inside.
Not only was it great to receive all this yumminess…but for several hours, it was really fun in the kitchen! All the fog from the dry ice was neat. I just wish that my grandson (who will be visiting next week) had already been here. He would have gotten such a kick out of it!
The box with the dry/canned items, was just as wonderful – it contained my getting started packet, which will be invaluable throughout my 12 weeks on the program.
Have you ever wondered what 28 days worth of food from Nutrisystem looks like?
Well, wonder no more! My freezer is packed. I placed all the boxes of lunches and dinners on one shelf, and I bagged up breakfast, lunch and snack/dessert items and placed them on another shelf. My dry goods went into the pantry. I have lunches in one basket and breakfasts and snacks/desserts in another.
Keep in mind that this is JUST MY FOOD.
My daughter’s shipment went to her place. I don’t believe that we have any chance of going hungry!!!
One of the surprises that we received was a Fast 5 package. Everything we need for the first 5 days. This is fantastic, especially for Sonnie, since she is taking a very very unexpected trip, due to a family emergency. She will be able to easily pack her Fast 5, along with other dry/canned food items, to take with her. This way she doesn’t have to delay starting the program.
Next Monday, we will let you know how our first week went.

I tried Nutrisystem a few months before I got pregnant, and I was surprised at how tasty many of the food options were!
