If you are looking for dolls that are cute and wholesome, then look no further than Lalaloopsy!
They let kids BE KIDS, and allow for imaginative play. I’m thrilled that they are age appropriate, along with sending and showcasing positive ideals such as:
- Working Together
- Using Their Talents
The Lalaloopsy 13″ dolls are cuddly, cheerful, welcoming, inviting, and Lorelai (my granddaughter), says they are her best friends. And the fact that they each come with a pet, is even more fun. The packaging that they come in also becomes a toy, as it can be used as a their home.
Here is Lorelai playing with Alice, who is an oldie but goodie. (By the way, she has renamed her Checkers. She says Alice is a boys name. We think she is confusing the name Alice with Alister, which is her cousins name!)
She loves her so much, she even insists that she be safe in the car!
Do you think that this is why she chose the name Checkers?
My youngest granddaughter has just discovered Lalaloopsy on Netflix and YouTube.
Here’s what her mother has to say…
“Lalaloopsy first came out around 2010, after I had my first baby (a little boy) but for some reason the show never made it on my radar. Maybe it was because until my daughter was born, my house was filled with trains, super heroes and other typical little boy shows and toys from having 2 sons. Whatever the reasons were, we have only recently discovered Lalaloopsy on Netflix and YouTube. And I am so glad that we finally did!
Lalaloopsy is not only the cutest show but has had (and will have) the cutest toys! The show and the toys have bright, cheerful colors and means Each character is well thought out, with their own individual personalities and talents. It is nice that they are all made out of scraps of things and on the last stitch they came to life.
I believe that for the most part, children are naturally creative but if the creativity isn’t nourished it diminishes. My 8 year old boy likes watching it with his little sister (4), just so he can spot the non-typical things that the pets and other items are made out of, for example one of the character’s (Sticks Boom Crash) has a pet turtle that is made from a drum.”
Now by popular demand #bringbacklalaloopsy, they are coming back to all major retailers (Walmart, Amazon, Target, and other toy retailers) on August 3rd. You’ll find your old favorites, along with some new friends!

MGA Entertainment brought Lalaloopsy dolls to the market in 2010.
Lalaloopsy dolls were once rag dolls who magically came to life when their last stitch was sewn. Cute and wholesome, Lalaloopsy offers a whimsical world of characters with unique personalities drawn from the fabric used to sew them, to inspire kids to develop their own creativity and imagination.
*The dolls were “designed to encourage a child’s imagination and creativity” and “teach important life lessons such as diversity, individuality and the idea that everything deserves a second life”. At release, the original eight dolls were Crumbs Sugar Cookie, Jewel Sparkles, Peanut Big Top, Bea Spells-a-Lot, Mittens Fluff ‘N’ Stuff, Dot Starlight, Pillow Featherbed, and Spot Splatter Splash
*On November 16, 2011 MGA announced that the newly created nurse doll – Rosy Bumps ‘N’ Bruises has been donated to more than 1,000 Red Cross hospital blood drives across the country to aid in awareness.
*MGA continued to add additional characters to the Lalaloopsy toy line. As of September 2016, there are over 100 characters. The main toy line includes 13-inch Dolls, the mini-series, and a variety of mini play-sets and plush dolls as well as Lalaloopsy Littles, smaller siblings of the 13-inch dolls.
Lalaloopsy dolls tick so many boxes…Perfect for crafters. (After all, they are each unique and creatively stitched to bring them to life!) They are great for play with kids and parents/grandparents. (They are adorable and uplifting, and let kids use their imaginations!) They are awesome for those who are environmentally conscious. (Lalaloopsy was created with packaging that is almost zero waste as all of the packaging can be reused to become your Lalaloopsy dolls home!)
