When you feel entry points in your home, you prevent the wind, water and air from coming through your house during a storm and potentially weakening it.
• Invest in good shutters. You can add an extra layer of protection to your windows by installing shutters just above them. When storm alerts begin, you can close the shutters on the outside and hopefully, you’ll be able to keep the glass from smashing. Plywood, or metal sheeting can do the same job, but storm shutters actually will save you money in the long run.
• Make sure you’re keeping your yard tidy. If you want to protect your house from stormy weather, you need to make sure that the wind cannot pick anything up and throw it against the walls or the roof of your home. You need to make sure that there is nothing in your yard or patio that can be lifted and thrown at your home. You should also consider keeping your car inside your garage too.
