  • I haven’t played video games in a long time, to the point where I’ve lost my ability to use a controller. I’ve been meaning to get back into it because all of my friends seem at peace when they do play. This post provided much needed clarity on how peaceful playing video games truly is, in addition to other mental benefits. Thanks for sharing!

  • We stayed away from consoles for a long time, but it was for a specific reason. I knew our kids would game online somehow (hubby is a big gamer), but I wanted them to get as familiar with computers as they could. All of their gaming was done on desktop computers for years. I think this gave them a really solid familiarity with using computers to do any number of tasks. And it seems to have worked – my teen’s boss at her first “real” summer job told her that he was really impressed that he didn’t have to teach her very much about using their software – she was able to pick it up really quickly!

  • I’m surprised to see empathy can be decreased with the games. Last time I visited my oldest granddaughter, she was offing her video game husband by drowning him in a pool on SIMS and I was mortified. She just laughs at me. 😉
