“For me writing WELCOME TO HARMONY was a journey that I took, more than just writing. When I was a kid, I spent a few weeks in a small town and thought it was the greatest place on earth. I always thought people were lucky to live in a place where folks knew one another. All my adult life, I’ve dreamed of going back to that small town of my childhood.
In WELCOME TO HARMONY, I made it back. A part of me was the sixteen year old character named Reagan who caught a ride to the town. I felt that way not so much because she thought there would be a place for her there, but because she wanted to have a place like Harmony to say that she was from.
The fun part of the story is that she’s swept up in the town and becomes a part of it. She does find that home she’s been looking for all her life.
The reviews are coming in now and I’m very pleased that everyone loves my story, but like all writers, I wrote the story I wanted to read. Someone at a conference a few weeks ago in Phoenix said that if you want to see your readers, look in the mirror. They are just like you.
So I hope all those people, like me, who want to step into another world and feel at home, will read Harmony. You’ll laugh and cry a little, but most of all you’ll fall in love with the people.
Sixteen-year-old runaway Reagan has always wanted a place to belong. She’s never had a real home of her own, but perhaps she could borrow someone else’s. Under an assumed name and identity, she moves to Harmony, Texas, but keeps her distance from the welcoming townsfolk. Until prairie fires threaten Harmony-and Reagan learns the true meaning of family, friends, and home.

I can’t say enough good things about
Welcome To Harmony!
From the “get-go”, I was attached to the characters.
I felt as if they were friends, and rooted for them
all through the book.
This is a classic “make you feel good” story:-)
If the next two in the trilogy are only
half as good as this one…
they will be winners too!
