Benner’s Gardens…Fencing and Accessories

As all of you know, we have chickens, and they get wanderlust every now and then.  We have had a devil of a time, keeping them on our side of the fence.  It had become a regular occurrence to answer the door, only to find a neighbor with chicken in hand {sigh}.  Luckily, I have awesome neighbors, and nobody seems to mind (maybe because I always send them back home with fresh eggs), but I worry that they will get on to the highway behind our home.  I needed a quick and easy solution to keep them from getting under the wood privacy fence.  Enter Benner’s Gardens.

Almost 25 years ago, Benner’s Gardens developed the first plastic deer fence made of an incredible new polymer netting developed in Europe called “bi-axially oriented polypropylene”. What is so unique about this product is that the netting is stretched (“oriented”) in two directions. We know from science class that when any polymer is stretched, it gains exponential strength. The results in this case were truly incredible!  Our product, the Benner’s Deer Fence, revolutionized the market.

They sent me a roll of rodent barrier fencing that has done the trick. This wire mesh fencing is just 2 feet high and has worked like a charm – blocking the gap between the bottom of the privacy fencing and the ground.  We simply used a staple gun to attach in to the wood and then slightly curved it at the bottom to splay out several inches across the grass.  No more escapees! What a relief and it was so simple and easy to do.

PVC-coated steel rodent barrier that you can easily attach to your deer fencing system. These barriers are perfect for areas where there is a high population of rabbits, groundhogs, squirrels, and other rodents. The barrier can be attached to the fence using our ties or hog rings and will give your yard and garden extra protection.
