Pick A Good Variety

First of all, you’re going to want to make sure that you have a decent variety of different plants around the home. As long as you have that, it’s going to mean that you have a much better chance of having a fantastic décor everywhere, and variety is always a good way to achieve that anyway. Of course, you might also be keen on having some kind of unity with the plants that you choose, but nonetheless there is something to be said for actively picking out quite a few different plants and seeing how they go together. You might be surprised at how effectively they do, once you start playing around with them a little.

Find Some Pretty Containers

Almost as important as the choice of plants is the choice of containers that the plants will go in. You want these to be as beautiful as possible too, so that they are going to be truly amazing parts of the décor. You have a lot of options to consider here, from checking out your local garden center for some painted pots to simply buying a variety of big bowls of different patterns and trying those out.

Use Crawlers & Vines To Drape

You don’t have to only have potted plants of the traditional kind, however. You might also want to consider getting some crawlers and vines to drape around the place, and in doing so you can add a little something extra to the whole appearance of the home as well as drawing something out of the plants themselves.

There are so many crawlers and vines that you can choose from. A Virginia creeper around a mirror is always a nice touch, and of course if you are going to go for something like ivy then you will need to take care if you have small children running around. All in all, however, these are wonderful ways to decorate your home.

Go For Ferns In The Bathroom

One of the simplest ways to care for plants in the home is to have some ferns in the bathroom. This is more or less the perfect environment for such plants, because they tend to love the dampness of that room and they are also quite easy to look after, not requiring too much light either. That means you can develop a nice little fern collection in the bathroom and really in any dark corners you might have in the home. You might be quite surprised at how much this can add to the feeling of the home, and with very little work needing putting into it too.
