Baking Rolls – I Decided to go All Domestic
I haven’t been very motivated to cook.
But the other day,
I thought that maybe I should pretend
to be all wifey and domestic like,
I thought that maybe I should pretend
to be all wifey and domestic like,
so I decided to make a batch of rolls.
I heated the milk…
placed yeast and sugar in a large bowl…
added the warmed milk and stirred.
I let the yeast proof for about ten minutes.
While the yeast proofed, I melted the butter…
and cracked and beat the eggs.
With the mixer on low speed, I added the butter to the yeast mixture.
Then I added the eggs.
I whisked the flour and salt together…
and added to the bowl, one cup at a time.
Mixing…
and mixing.
When the dough began to come together and pull away
from the sides of the bowl,
I dumped it out onto the counter, which I had
sprayed lightly with cooking spray.
I kneaded the dough, adding flour as needed,
until it became smooth and elastic.
I then placed the dough into a large bowl, that I had also
sprayed with cooking spray.
I covered the top of the bowl with waxed paper,
and placed on top of my dryer.
A clean dish towel went on top of the waxed paper,
and now we wait.
After about 45 minutes, the dough had doubled.
I punched it down, and plopped it back down on my
counter top, that I had once again sprayed,
with cooking spray.
I gently patted the dough out, and then cut with
a plastic pizza cutter.
Each piece of dough was shaped into a ball,
and placed on cooking sheets lined with Silpats.
30 rolls, and 1 loaf.
All brushed lightly with more melted butter.
After letting them sit and rise once again, for about 20 minutes,
They were placed into the oven and this is what they looked like,
after baking for 20 – 25 minutes.
Out came the butter again, drizzled over the top of the rolls.

I had an ecstatic husband, and I made our
favorite family, from church, quite happy.
They got one of the pans of rolls.
You want to know just how good they were?
Mind sharing your recipe? These look delicious. How much milk, yeast, and sugar? Thanks!
Those look SO yummy!! I'd love to know how much of what too! My hubby would love them!

It's look easy to make, last time I make my own dough too, but I use my hand, I saw that you use the machine, can you share your recipe with us, thanks.
When I was growing up, my grandmother lived in the house right next to us. She used to make rolls every Sunday. You could smell them baking, and all I wanted to do was run over there and get a hot one. You see, she was a baker at the state capital here in tx and she was SOOOOO good at baking. I've never tried before. This looks doable though, so the recipe would be great!
Mmmm, there’s nothin’ quite like homemade rolls, fresh from the oven. Thanks for linking up to Inspire Me Wednesday!
