Just ONE can make a difference
There was a young man walking down a beach at dawn.
He saw a frail old man picking up stranded starfish
and throwing them back into the sea.
The young man gazed in wonder as the old man threw
the small starfish from the sand to the water.
He asked, “Old man, why do you spend so much energy
doing what seems to be a waste of time?”
The old man explained that the starfish would die if left in the sun.
“But there must be thousands of beaches
and millions of starfish!” exclaimed the young man.
“How can you make any difference?”
The old man looked at the small starfish in his hand
and as he threw it to the safety of the sea, he said,
“I made a difference to that one!”
Have you ever thought about donating just one dollar,
when you’ve read about another’s plight,
but didn’t, because you thought…
“that’s all I can afford, and a dollar just won’t help.”
If only half the people who are GFC followers of my blog,
donated just $1, it would add up to over $350.
What if those who donated a dollar,
told another 10 people each…
and only 2 of each of those 10 people donated a dollar?
That would be over $700.
Add that $700 to the first $350,
and it would pay for more than 1/3
of this family’s immediate need…
to bury a beloved husband and father.
Please go HERE to read about this family.
Thanks for sharing about this! I truly appreciate it. 🙂
